Lesson # 1: What NOT to do at church

Once again.. the most interesting thing to happen to us this week, happened at church. Only this time not so funny. Exibhit A is Porter. He "says" he was trying to hug Ethan while Ethan stood in front of Porter in the pew on Sunday. Needless to say I watched what looked like Porter push Ethan backwards onto the ground and Porter dive head first from the pew onto Ethan.(We still aren't sure what he hit going down.) Heath and I rolled our eyes and both grabbed a screaming boy in the middle of the water portion of the Sacrement. When we got out into the foyer we realized Porter was bleeding all down the back of my dress and onto himself. The gash was deep enough that we took him to quick care and they glued him up instead of using stiches. Apparantly it scars less and heals easier, especially for kids who like to touch stiches. Porter was so brave. We did all this and we were back in time for me to teach young women's, Luckily!! He got to show off his cool face at church and is pretty impressed with all of the colors. We didn't really realize how bad it was until a couple of days after as the bruising really came through. It actually looks worse in person. The bridge of his nose is swollen too. We did take him to Mcdonalds yesterday and realized it probably looks really bad to other people. Needless to say, we tried to be really nice to our boys in public!

Porter said what?!...

Last sunday (fast sunday) we were ever so reverently listening to the testimonies being born. Oh wait, that was not our family it was someone elses. Actually Porter and Ethan were being as disruptive as possible during testimony meeting when a 6 year old got up to bear his testimony. And of course, those are the most fun testimonies to listen to. He proceeds into the usual bit about knowing the church is true, etc. then he gets to the part where he says, " I know President ...., I know president.... " He said this 5 or 6 times and he seemed to be stuck when Porter who doesn't even appear to realize we are in church yells "President Monson, it's Monson!!" We were of course embarrased as well as proud as half the congregation turns around to see whose kid is yelling. Needless to say Heath and I felt rather good that he was picking up something from FHE or scripture time despite the fact that he still believes Angel Moroni on the temples is the Holy Ghost.

It's a New Year!!

Ok!! I know it doesn't seem like it, but one of my goals this year is to learn how to blog. I want to be able to keep in touch with friends and family and keep a better record of what is going on with our family. Also I am HORRIBLE ( I can not emphasize this enough) at taking pictures(Erin, you know what I am talking about) and this will remind me, or force me to take more pictures! So here is my first entry of 2009. I know it is nothing to brag about, but I have no idea how to do this. It took me several hours to just get what I have on here now. So tomorrow morning when I can call my sister and have her help me out I promise to update more!
